Olivier George

Olivier George completed his undergraduate training and earned his doctorated at the University of Bordeaux in France, in the laboratory of Michel Le Moal and Pier-Vincenzo Piazza. His graduate research was focused on the neurobiological mechanisms of age-related sleep and memory impairments.

His postdoctoral work in George Koob laboratory at The Scripps Research Institute was focused on the role of the stress system and the prefrontal cortex in drug addiction.

George’s lab at The Scripps Research Institute is focused on understanding how nicotine, alcohol and drugs of abuse affect people’s brains and how the brain controls a person’s actions.
